Retail tissues recorded a value increase of 8% in 2020, compared to 3% growth in 2019. This uplift in sales was driven by the outbreak of COVID-19, with sales boosted by consumers stockpiling toilet paper. The stockpiling behaviour was driven by consumers fear that stocks would become unattainable, as well as the concern that, due to isolation, they would be housebound and not able to gather supplies.
