The Value Proposition Canvas is a tool that ensures that a product caters to customer needs. It is about finding out why the customer needs a supplier and what the customer can perceive as an extra value. It can also find what the customer finds annoying or disadvantageous. In 2004, Alexander Osterwalder introduced his research on business models. It contained the first sketches of the template of the business model canvas.
